Do you know Jesus? Oh sure, you've heard of Jesus, you know that He's written of in the Bible, you may even sing about Him on Christmas, and you probably know that Easter is about His resurrection from the dead. You've probably heard it said that He was a really good man, a prophet, or that He started a world religion. Those things are true, but they only scratch the surface of who this Jesus is.
The truth is, Jesus Christ is the Son of God! He was a good man, and a prophet, and He did start a world religion; but that's not all He did. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived here on earth, and then laid down His life; why? Because He loved, and still loves you!
We are all God's children, created to be in relationship with a Holy God, however, when sin came into the world, we fell from the perfect place that God had designed for us, and became tainted with sins stain.
That stain separates us (Mankind) from a Holy God. There is no way for us to reconcile ourselves to God, so God made a way. Since the beginning, it has always been God's plan to send His Son Jesus into the world, by taking every sin, (past, present, and future) upon himself, He who was without sin, became sin on our behalf. By volunteering to die on the cross, His perfect, sinless blood became the sacrifice that God required for the forgiveness of our sins, and those who accept this free gift, and fall upon the mercy and grace of Jesus, will enter into a new life and a new kingdom. Unfortunately, those who choose to ignore or reject His offer, will be condemned.
There are only two choices, life or death, belief or unbelief. Jesus told us that He was the only way to approach God. He's not one of many ways, He's not the best way, Jesus is the only way.
Now is the time to choose, not this afternoon, not tomorrow, but right now. Life here on Earth is short and can end at any moment. Choose Jesus, choose life.
